AC Question

I always add oil by pulling a vacuum first (I use an el cheapo compressed
air vacuum pump) with gauges hooked up. Once you have a vacuum in the
system close the two (one) valve and put the end of the feed (middle one
on the gauges you were just using for vacuum) hose in the amount of oil
you want put into the system, open the valve a little and it'll suck the
oil right into the system.

If you have two available ports it's sometimes easier to hook the vacuum
pump up to one port and suck the oil in the other port.

If you've already charged a system, most FLAPS sell an oil charge that
looks like a black tube, you screw it onto a convenient port and crank it
down with a rachet, when you crank it down the oil gets pushed into a
pressurized system.

If you've read this far ;-P, what you've done sounds fine and there
should be more than enough oil in the compressor.
