Re my no-start when hot 5TQ:

Thanks to Doyt Echelberger and Tony Lum for the advice re hall senders.
I don't think this is the problem since I changed out the distributor to no
avail.

When the car is hot and it sits for a bit (like 20 minutes) there is no
spark. Since changing the distributor, it sometimes starts by firing on
maybe three cylinders, then after a few seconds four cylinders, then all
five and it's fine.

I am going to switch out the ignition coils this morning and try that.

One other thing: the Bentley manual states that hall-equipped cars require a
rotor stamped with an "R1" Neither of my cars has this stamp on the rotors
but the rotor from our 1985 5TQ parts car (with the older distributor) has
this "R1" on the rotor.

Thanks in advance

Ian
