Worthwhile to repeat, of course, that the 2079 and the torque wrench must be perfectly in
line.
The 2079 wasn't developed as a torque multiplier, though that is of course what it also is.
The reason was to allow changing the timing belt on an ur-quattro without removing the air
dam. With the car on a lift, a 2079 allows you to get onto the harmonic damper bolt from
below with the air dam in place - it helps to just loosen the bumper but you don't n eed to
remove it.
You can't get a torque wrench - and most certainly not a 3/4" drive one, which is the only
safe size at this torque - on to the bolt in this configuration. The 2079 is a lot thinner.
