The inline 5 is back! and it's mexican

Mike, the concern with extracting huge power levels from newer NA engines
is the emissions regulations, the latest regulations imply that all engines
have to run an AFR of 14.7:1 all the time, including at WOT, which means HP
is lower than in engines that comply to earlier emissions regulations.
This AFR issue is a big problem, as in most newer gas cars' owners manuals
it is clearly stated that the driver should avoid driving at WOT for more
than 15 minutes, otherwise overheating or engine damage might appear (high
EGTs I suppose).
HTH,
Mihnea
