Today was absolutely by far the busiest day since the move- peak and
average rates were much higher. Everyone's back from vacation and
catching up, I suppose. In a week or two we'll have a better idea of
what 'typical' will be(we just started monitoring email volume
recently) although it's still the holidays. I think today we topped
out at about 1177 emails per minute, and sent a total of 86,000
emails in the last 24 hours.
Whereas I'd get a message within 5-10 minutes with the old system, I
usually get my posts back within a minute. This should cut down on
confusion some. Lags, when they get bad enough, hurt conversation
because you end up with duplicate answers and such.

Thank your fellow listers who contributed the funds to make the
purchase possible, and thank Cervalis for employing Dan and
continuing to give us enterprise-class hosting for free.
