short coolant hose size, type 44...

Will be replacing the short rubber hose that connects the thermostat housing 
to the metal line which leads to the heater core. I'd like to get the correct 
size beforehand. It's tough to get at, and my current one has expanded so that 
it's tough to gauge the hose size. Anyone recall the inner diameter? ETKA and 
parts lists don't show size.
