Steve:
Bose send line signal output to amplifiers in the speakers. ( or something
like that.)
Conventional send juice from the head unit to a basic speaker.
Bose to amped speaker or
Aftermarket head to basic, buy at the stereo shop, speakers.
Weak antenna is lead came loose or antenna amplifier has dead or has no power
to "amp" the signal.

Haven't been on the list in a while, but my dad
finally bought an Audi, at my urging, so I must help
him keep it going.
There is an aftermarket head unit in the car, but
factory Bose speakers. I thought at one time you
couldn't interchange an aftermarket head unit with the
amped Bose system. Would this explain why the front
speakers now sound blown? If so can I put in after
market speakers, do I need to try to find used Bose
speakers, or just the whole system and re-wire a new
one?
There also seems to be terrible radio reception
