trunk lights, 4kq

Tom,

Check the wiring that runs along the hinge to the
lights in the trunk lid. Common damage problem
in type 44's, if you've an '85 or later 4K, you're
in the same catagory ('84's didn't have trunk
lid wires, the lid ended above the tail lights). You
need to splice any broken wires with appropriate
gauge wires. NOW, to prevent this from re-occuring,
two things will help. Use flexible conduit to protect
the wires. AND, don't overload the trunk, especially
near the hinges. I know this is a difficult proposition in
a 4K, the trunk is smallish, but it sure beats splicing
wires in the cold.

In recent days the back-up lights, center and rear locking differential
bulbs have stopped working. Bulbs all check out fine as does the fuse.
Visually I know the diffs are locking.

Something loose (other that what's in my head) in common to these three
bulbs?

I can't seem to track anything in the Bentley to this.

Any suggestions appreciated.

TIA
