Ti, Chris,

there are AFAIK 2 effective methods for resetting an ECU's adaptive memory:

1: disconnect battery for 10 minutes, connect again, then turn the ignition 
key on the "on" position and let the throttle body do its adaptation for 
about 15 minutes, then shut the ignition, switch it on again and you're done.

2: connect to the ECU with VAG-COM, enter the login code (check with the 
Bentley), then it's "10 Adaptation", channel 0: set all adaptation values 
to factory. That is IIRC.
