Checking Timing Marks - A4

Sorry folks, more questions:

Ok, so what if after I've removed the t-belt and somehow, screwed up by moving the crank and /or cam shaft so that now the timing marks are out of alignment.

Can I simply line up the crank pully to TDC and same with the cam? And what's the deal with turning the engine 2 revs clockwise? Is that to just make sure that the valves are not hitting the head and can I do it with the belts off?

Also, according the Bentley I should replace the crank bolt if I remove to change the seal. I ordered the crank bolt but it'll take about a week to order. I'd like to get my car back on the road this weekend so I'm thinking of skipping the replacement of the crank seal. Bad move or should I wait a week? Thoughts?

Thanks again.
