quattro Digest, Vol 2, Issue 66, Something's Knocking in the clutch

Note the "usually". My 200Q's clutch TO bearing complained when
the clutch was NOT depressed. Sounded like a knocking rattle/warble,
or incorrectly tensioned accessory drive belt when standing outside of
the car. Depressing the pedal quieted things down some. Then, depressing
the clutch did essentially...nothing. TO bearing gone.
