I guess I'd better add some caveats... I did this on my (sunroofless) 82
coupe. The coupe visors may not be set up exactly the same as the 4k,
since they do have different windsheilds, sunroof controls, etc.
It was a mirror from an 87 5k, as I recall.
What I liked was that the original coupe mirror only showed "glass,"
whereas the wider 5k mirror let me see the C pillars a bit, too, making
depth and lateral perception seem more concrete.
** Perhaps before diving in and ordering, anyone who wants to try this
should measure the space between their visors and then ask on the list
how wide a given mirror is.
Of course, with a wider r/v mirror, placement of the mount stalk gets a
bit more finicky, too.
