power steering pump noise

I have replaced the pump, high pressure hose to rack and the rack at the 
same time.  The steering centers firmly but when the steering wheel is 
moved off center you can hear the pump. It is not very loud but I am 
concerned because the reason I had to replace all these components is 
that the old pump was staining before.  A new high pressure hose blew 
off it fitting running the pump dry.  Also the instructions for both the 
pump and rack said the Banjo bolt on the pump outlet to rack must be 
matched to the number stamped on the label of the pump. Neither of the 
two Audi dealers had a clue what I was talking about.  I did flush out 
all the old hydraulic fluid prior to installing new parts.
Could someone please respond and describe what is normal-- car has not 
run correct for a long time.
