Driving across the country... wobbly tire

 Hi,

Assuming you've checked all the usual wheel related issues, e.g. condition
of tyre and rim, and had them balanced, then I'd say the next thing to check
is the tie rod end. I had a slight low speed wobble feeding back thru my
steering wheel, especially on a gentle curve that was only finally banished
when I replaced my tie rod ends. - although there was no discernable play or
'lift' on them that I could detect.

It seems to me that cars that drive thru the front wheels ( either FWD or
4WD/AWD) have a tendency to this kind of slight oscillation under power and
gentle curve, if any parts have a little slack in them. Since the tie rods
ends are easy and cheap to replace, and worked for me, I'd suggest you think
about checking yours, along with all the other suspension joints.

Cheers.
