A small piece of advice now that it's snowing....

Hello all,
We are getting some more snow here in the "great white north", otherwise
known as Minnesota and I thought I would pass on a little piece of
advice. Take it or leave as you see fit.

I've owned an AWD wagon (Eagle) and a 4x4 truck (Toyota) in the past and
even though I now own just a FWD Audi, I keep an amber emergency strobe
in my car and one in my wife's car. Actually, mine is a halogen
revolving style and my wife's is a strobe.

Why you may ask? Well, 2 decades ago I was a military policeman, and I
constant saw how people do NOT pay attention to simple emergency
flashers, but when there is a light flashing on the roof of a vehicle,
they seem to wake up and pay attention. I use the light any time that I
pull off to the side of the road so that there is less of a chance that
some idiot will plow into me. With snow on the road it is even more
important because it is harder for others to realize that you are pulled
off to the side.

I paid an average of $60 for our lights, but you can buy cheaper ones at
your local FLAPS stores for much less.

Thanks for your time, stay safe, and stay between the ditches. :-)
