engine wont start

Yep, the engine does not turn,, it click click in the engine bay when i only
get the key on ignition position, not in start position, anyway it ll not
start if click click on previous position.
The starter did not work for at least 6 month. i ll check the solenoide....
the problem must be very easy to  fix...
