That figures.

In the UK, when we meet conditions like this, the first thing we suspect is the
alarm/immobiliser.

They're all different, of course, but I'm wondering if there is one installed in this case,
and it cuts both the starter connection and one of the ECU (power?) connections that then
causes the 1111.
