Check the Brett "Atkins diet" post or the owners manual of your A4.  The 
Avant tips nearly 3700 lbs.  With a 1.8L !  When my 1987 ~2600lbs 4000Q Fwd had a 
1.8, I thought the 0-60 sucked.
