5k serpentine conversion?

Hi Kurt,

I would suspect you are not using the correct belt.  These cars can be picky if you don't use a Continental or Gates belt.  There are slightly different "V" profiles, and the wrong one will jump ship.  BTDT.

You shouldn't have to convert to serpentine belt style to keep your belts on.

My '87 5ktq just lost its 2nd alternator belt in as many months to the
rain. Is a serpentine conversion easy on this model? Do any of the 10V
cars have serpentine that I could transplant? I only see references to
serpentine for V8 models in the archives. I would expect increased
reliability based on my experience with other vehicles and possibly a
couple HP gain.
