" So we remove the hose from the Jetta
(what a pain, it had spring clamps you could hardly reach with a set of
pliers - took like an hour to get the hose off the Jetta, took 10 minutes
to get the hose off and on the Audi with regular German screwdriver type
hose clamps) and replaced the hose on my Audi with it, fits perfectly! I
drove home no problem."
FYI, those hoses are designed to use those spring clamps, which do a LOT
better job than those "regular German screw clamps". The hoses last longer,
too, when you use the spring clamps. I've seen cars that had leaking new
hoses that were cured by installing the proper clamps. They never wear out,
or get rusty or jammed, and don't cut hoses. They also apply nice even
pressure all the way around. FWIW, even those wire clamps they use on
Japanese cars are better than the screw clamps we see on older German cars.
