My '03 doesn't seem to have any lighting for the door handles, maybe
this is a new feature. The two LEDs in front of the sunroof knob are
only supposed to "slightly" illuminate your hand and the center console
controls under pitch dark conditions. It's not meant to be bright.

Don't know about that, maybe it's a new '04 feature too.

I think you have to unlock first before you can make it release.

I don't have the owner's manual handy to check, but this is probably
something that requires a re-coding using the VAG scan tool.
