Strut bearings

Folks

i replaced the strut bearings on my 90 20v q, about 8k miles ago when i fitted the bilteins, now have clunk from the right front on jacking the car up i can feel a lot of play at the top of the strut, the other side has none at all.

Are the normal green strut bearings inferior in some way to the blue ones i keep hearing about, and are the blue ones best and why please.

I don't want to go tearing everything apart and fit the same part only to have it fail again in a short time.
