Checking for codes on OBD1 cars....

I have some documents that I printed out from the www.12v.org site. They 
describe how to get the codes to blink the MIL lamp, and how to clear 
codes using the black and white connectors in the fuse box.

Check codes = jumper the right pin of each connector

Clear codes = jumper the left pin of each connector

OK, so where the heck do you connect a 12volt light or LED to watch the 
"blinks" if you don't feel like racing around the bloody door to jump 
into the driver's seat in time to see the damn MIL lamp blink?

Anybody have a solution? Too bad Elliot and his site appear to have 
fallen off the Internet.
