I feel like a traitor...

Tell your friend to check out the full sized sedans from GM from 1978-1989. Car like the Impala & Caprice. I have two of them, a 1978 Impala wagon and a 1985 Impala 9C1 (police interceptor). They have, overall, been the most reliable cars I've ever had. And when parts do wear out, they are CHEAP to replace ($30 alternators & starters). They are easy to work on. The 78 has 495,000 miles on it and the 85 has 140,000. The 78's first engine lasted 475,000 miles with no rebuilds. And when we pulled it, it still ran, it was jsut leaking out of EVERY seal...

...because I told a friend NOT to buy a 5k. :-(
He is looking for an inexpensive reliable commuter (short distances,
less than 3000$), and he asked me about buying a 5k (no Q no T)
automatic.
Since he has 2 young children, I figured he was not up to the task of
maintaining this fine automobile...
I instead suggested him to buy a low-mileage american sedan form the
70s. Lots of space, 4 doors, style (or lack of...), cheap and reliable.
Maybe it is also an unconscious way of keeping my beloved status of
Audifan unrivalled...
I feel cheap.
But I'll get over it. :-)
