I've always found the drain hoses difficult to pull off when I've wanted to
take them off.
If one of the hoses is leaking, the water will most likely drip out between
the roof lining and the rear quarter windows.

One of my Ur-qs suffered a damp patch near the back of the transmission
tunnel - on the floor each side of the tunnel right at the back there's a
plug in the floor, it's metal, inserted from below and then turned by a few
degrees to lock it in place, the PO had clipped a rock or something which
had slightly dented the floor near the plug so that it didn't seal properly.
Removed it, tidyed the damage, inserted the plug and sealed it over again.
No more wet floor.

If you really want to remove the headlining:

Remove sunroof

Remove sunroof handle and trim

Remove interior light

Remove sun shades

Remove rear grab handles

With a thin trim release tool, carefully detach three fittings along the
rear edge of the lining approx 4" from the lining edge

Peel back the roof lining from where it is glued inside the sunroof recess -
there are also a number of pieces of metal bonded to the lining and bent
over into the recess, lift them to release.

Finally, with somebody in the car supporting the lining, pull down the top
section of each door seal from the car body.

Lining should now be free.

Some but not all coupes have the inside lip of the windscreen seal on top of
the headlining, you may need to lift it slightly.
