Kneale,
Don't think the early 'lockers' unlocked at 15 MPH. That was first
implemented with the T*rs*n differential, wasn't it?

I ran my 4kq with the center diffy locked at highway speeds--and
occasionally locked it while underway--routinely. The rear diffy
automatically unlocks at something like 15 mph, so I don't think it'll
activate if you're moving that fast anyway. I drove that car several
winters and only once used the locked rear to get out of a parking spot
that had about a foot of wet snow in it.
