Dan,
Wind does not freeze much of anything except FLESH; your battery does not
have any flesh does it! Windshield factor is a "feeling thing" not a
temperature thing! Water will never freeze if the windshield is 20 below and
the temperature is 40 above (we are talking F degrees). The only thing that
parking away from the wind will gain you is longer warm temperature under
the hood and consequently warmer battery (if it is under the hood).

I was confused when I saw this until I noticed the ".fi" in your address!
When I lived in Rochester, NY, I had to make visits to our Buffalo, NY,
office several times during the winter... It was located right on Lake
Erie, the eastern end... I was always told to park with my car facing AWAY
from the lake (assuming the battery was up front) as the wind coming off
the lake was cold enough to freeze the battery!
