4kq Differential Operation and warnings?????

Yes, but in the urq manual (same drivetrain but only option is both diffs
locked), Audi recommends locking them for competition driving. Sooo,
basically, if you know how the car reacts in different configurations
(open/open, locked/open, locked/locked) why not drive with them whatever way
you want to? Of course this is assuming, you're not just loading up the
drivetrain on dry pavement or something silly like that. I had both diffs
locked for a few days this week, because streets were completely snow
covered, and I wanted to have fun and not have to worry about shovelling the
car out.

My $0.02CDN.

Cheers,

You're right, Doug, the 4k rear diff lock does not release automatically at
15 mph. Audi cautions against locking the rear diffy for anything other
than getting the car moving in slippery or rough conditions.
