Also upgraded pads tend to have less "sticky" dust, my ebc green dust just
wipes off.....

I agree with Huw. Wax mnakes all the difference in the world. With a nice
coat of wax, I never have to use any heavy duty cleaners to get brake dust
off, just a damp sponge. :)

Sandblasting works well, of course, then you have to repaint the wheels...

But seriously, one tip I want to mention, is that after all the work it 
takes to clean up a set of wheels, the best thing you can do is to wax 
them well.  Then clean them and rewax before the wax has a chance to 
deteriorate.

The wax makes it a *lot* easier to remove future grime.
