Hello-
Well on friday night i rolled the car out of the garage after 6 weeks
of downtime, moslty waiting for parts. Primed the fuel system and
checked for leaks, none. Sat and stared at it for 10 minutes or more
hoping it would start......bumped the starter and it fired right up!
Died quickly though because i had the wrong crankcase breather hoses
plugged. Got those sorted out and it ran great! It idles sooooo
smooth and almost never misses/hesitates! this car has never run
like this. I'm very happy to be rid of CIS!
I've got one little dilema to sort out now. I had a problem with the
crankcase ventilation. A hose comes up from the crankcase and ties
into a "T" at the valve cover. From there there used to be a hose
that went to the low pressure side of the turbo/intake. At first i
didn't have this and the crankcase pressure was blowing oil out the
dipstick...so i brazed a fitting on the intake pipe and found a hose
at checker that will reach. Now i have a water drip out of my air
filter on the end of that intake pipe?! I assume that it's just
condensation/sweat off the metal intake pipe but is there a way to
get rid of that? PCV valve? I'd like to keep moisture out of the
intake.....it's a pretty steady drip when idling. 7-8 times per
minute.
I'd like to say thanks to anyone who gave me some help along the
way. I have to admit i was very doubtful about it working. But it
does work great!
Happy holidays
