In fact PCNA has taken the unprecedented step of OFFICIALLY asking the 
Porsche Club of North America to "Welcome" the new Cayenne owners
into the group. 
Seeing how the "old line" 356/911 kooks rejected the wasser cars (924,928,944 etc)
and had also shunned the 914 folks before- it's not a suprise move.
 
I think Porsche has made a huge mistake- but the cars are selling at the rates
(or better) than expected. Suprising since they were SO late into that market.
Still the Porsche name holds sway with many of the folks that can afford
cars in that market.

When/if VW puts that V10 TDItt motor in an american car the Cayenne Turbo will
be "King of the Hill" in many LSUV folk's minds.
