Aluminum CIS airbox?

I saw an Aluminum "cold air intake" for a GTI on ebay.  It was a cast 
aluminum piece that replaced the upper and lower half of the plastic 
airbox.  The fuel distributor bolts directly to it.  It definately looks 
OE.  Does anyone know what VAG (or other) car this came on?  Maybe a 
Porsche part?

It looks like it would help the turbo CIS installation in a 4k.  I had 
to make a custom airbox bottom, but this looks like it would work very 
well with less effort.
