ur-quattro aircon

A most odd patient.

It's a 1988 ur-quattro, MB (MC) engine.

It has aircon - unusual over here - but the aircon is more unusual than most.  It has _two_
condensors - one mounted underneath where the tray usually sits, and one on the front of the
radiator.  Other oddities - the engine doesn't get fully warm in cold weather (changing the
thermostat today, though the old one looks OK) and there's a blanking plate behind the grill
with some random holes drilled in it.

Anyone seen this?  I'm wondering if the "two condensors" thing is because one condensor has
failed and relplacement parts were NLA?
