Royal Ford does it again!

I have owned Audi's and VW's since 1974 with a merc diesel in between for a
few years. I would be pissed too if a key part in my car failed repeatedly
and the dealer (who is the manufacturer's representative as far as I am
concerned) did not fix it for good. If the coil failures are indeed
widespread, VW is making a bad mistake by taking a cavalier attitude towards
these problems. It will hurt their image and consequently, their sales.

Nothin' like hand-picking and editing the emails you get from people
whipped into a frenzy, to slam you point home:

ion_coils+.shtml

He even makes fun of the people who accuse him of biased reporting, which
he admits to. The justifcation is even better: If he says so many GOOD
things about a car company, he's -got- to say a few nasty things too.
Otherwise, it wouldn't be fair reporting.

This understanding of journalistic integrity among 'automotive
reviewers' is why, for example, "strong engine" is balanced by "annoying
cupholders" seems to be perfectly reasonable logic in so many reviews...

Boilin' in Boston,
