It could be either one, the 110 is considerably bigger (housing) than the
90AMP.
The way to tell is by the "mounting ears spread", the 110 is a lot larger
around 4". The 90AMP is about half the spread.

Take care,

Subject: 88 90q Alternator Amperage Question

Does anyone know the proper amperage for the alternators on the 1988 90
quattros? Rod at TPC said there are two different ones. One is a 90 amp
and the other I believe is 110 amps. I am 400 miles from my car and can't
check until this weekend. If anyone knows the proper alternator for these
cars, please let me know. The car does have AC, but I am pulling it anyway.
My concern is fitment.

TIA
