Graham,

My knock sensors failed one at a time. If you're on a real
tight budget, buy the 1-2 knock sensor and try in both
positions and see if you can knock off [ ;-) ...] which one(s)
are bad. IMHO, the ECU may be fooled, but I'd be willing
to bet that they're both bad.
