I have done a BUNCH of lookin at numbers at all of those "car value" sites, and by far the most accurate is the "black book" values. This is what the guys use at the auto auctions, and you can't just go to a bookstore and buy it. Good news, though. Instead of subscribing to their books for like 80 bucks a year, you can go to www.cars.com and get the black book values. Their numbers are pretty generous (high) on the scale compared to the KBB stuff. The KBB trade in value is my LOWBALL figure when I'm doing research for people, and I'll just average it out depemding on condition. I will say this, concerning cars on eBay. There needs to be a road test and a Pre-Purchase inspection on just about everything. Nothing against the folks who buy and sell on eBay, but the thought of buying a car without a test drive and a PPI scares the hell out of me. Especially if you are going to drop some serious change on a vehicle ($10,000+)
