When I originally bought my 5K from the very back row of a local sleazeball
used car lot, it had thrown a rod, complete with a hole on each side of the
block.

It started (not easily), and actually ran (not well), and even had some oil
pressure. I used the engine just long enough to get the car to where I was
going to work on it - and I had a spare engine ready to go by then. The
body and interior of the car were flawless, it was "jest a little noisy,
nuthin a coupla cans of STP won't cure . . . "
