...or kilometrage for us Canadian...
I just did the O2 sensor replacement on my 83 urQ. The damn thing was
really frozen there and access is not that great but I did it with a O2
sensor special socket tool (18$ from Lisle tools,
http://www.lislecorp.com/tools/catalog/engine/index.htm
<http://www.lislecorp.com/tools/catalog/engine/index.htm> part number
12100 bought at Canadian Tire) and a Thule 30 inch cross bar!!!
Yes I needed all that leverage just to slack the sensor and needed it for
at least 2 complete turns!
Oh, BTW, tested both sensor with a propane torch and YES, the old sensor
was dead.
So after 200 km, just at looking at the gauge needle drop ratio, I am sure
my mileage is better. Before, it was free fall... So now I expect to do
better than 500 km with 80 liters of premium.
After that, I adjusted the duty cycle and the mixture with my trusty
Probst book and my fairly (to me it is perfect, but I am not a
professional mechanic) accurate Equus DIMM.
I still have 2 question:
On the emissions label, there are instructions to unplug the crankcase
breather hose and the charcoal canister hose before adjusting mixture.
Q1 - Why doing this since the readings are about the same, hose connected
or not?
Q2 - What do you adjust first; RPM or Duty Cycle? Or each is independent,
even if each one seems to affect each other?
As always,
Thanks in advance,
Louis-Alain,
83 urQ with more than half a tank after 350 km.
PS: now you know why I sent my contribution, I am one of the biggest
contributor to this list. Yes I am, but for Questions! :-))
