Oil Filter Troubles

I'm sorry to hear that.  I ONLY handtighten them.  1/2
turn past contact with gasket.  Back off a 1/4 turn
and about 1/8 turn clockwise.  Never had to use a
wrench to remove it or had it leak.  I DO have one of
those metal crush wrenches that takes a breaker bar.
For when someone else put one on.  (NOT on my cars.)
I have had to shread a few and even use the threaded
center post to remove one.  That really sucks.
