No Dash Lights!!

Hey list,
    My dash light were intermittent for a couple of days, and they finally
died. It's not just the instument panel lights; the radio and heater,etc. are
out, too. The fuse is good as are all the lights in the back, although the
license plate bulbs don't light up---but they are good bulbs. Any ideas where
to start? Car is an '86 5ktq.
