Maybe a stupid Quattro question

Can't figure out how to get a URL for my audiworld post answering your same
question...so, here it is again...

Your rear diff is an "open diff". With an open diff, power is delivered to the
wheel with the least resistance. If you lift one wheel off the ground while
leaving the other one on the ground...the one off the ground has a lower
resistance, thus it will spin.

In your case I suspect that the left wheel would have had less resistance, and
thus spun first.

Locking the diff does just that...LOCKS the diff so that both wheels are locked
together like a solid axle, this would make both wheels spin.

This is fully normal behaviour for your rear diff.

Your front and rear diffs are open diffs, while your center is a TORSEN diff.
The torsen exhibits _much_ different behaviour.
