Anyone Transferred FWD Drive Train as subframe?

Believe it or not, I still have to complete the transfer of the FWD 5-speed
drivetrain into the automatic for my BiL. I really got caught up in a lot
of details ... clutch job, timing belt, head gasket, etc. and things
stalled. One of the key issues with the "new" car is that it was rolled
about without half shafts, so I know the wheel bearings are toast. What I
am contemplating is "simply" lifting the body off the subframe and drive
train, and shifting it to the "new" car. Has anyone done a swap like this
before? If at all possible I'd like to set things up so that I can effect
the transfer in a day or two at most. The biggest problem I'm considering
is where do I support the assembly to prevent damage? I'm thinking the
assembly will include everything from the hubs up, and it may be a bit
difficult to balance. Perhaps I can practice on the subframe from the "new"
car, but it does not have an engine or tranny attached.

Any BTDT, thoughts, concerns appreciated!
