10VT engine dished pistons (to lower the CR) have raised sides that
turn the normally aspirated non-interference engine into an interference
engine (it seems to be against common sense, but it's interference).
BTW, even the non-interference engines can have interference should
the belt break at sufficiently high RPM. (inertia, valve overlap, it's
close
even at low RPM). Moral: Replace your belts on schedule.
