Having recently aquired a 12v 90 quattro, I am constantly blow away by the
utter lack of power with this motor (not the 30v, the 12v). Throttle
response is horrid, once you do floor it the midrange is decent but falls on
its face by 4.5k rpm. Not sure its making 172hp, but our 2.5l 190hp 325i
puts it to shame in every respect. Oh well, but its a quattro so I can live
with it =)

Frankly I don't know if the swap would be worth it, I've driven plenty of A4
30v cars, they aren't much more inspiring in the power dept, granted its got
500 some lbs over a 4kq. I know the brake master cylinder is in the way, and
that will need to be relocated, not sure about the flywheel either.

If its power you're looking for though, an I5 turbo motor can give you an
easy 225hp and even more torque, a V6 would be one of the "first", the 30v
could be supercharged, a huge bonus. You'll also need to do something about
the motor mounts and move the radiator to the front of the car - to name a
few things.

HTH,
Javad
