I need to replace the rear upper control arm bushings in the 5ktq and was w=
ondering about aftermarket bushings that would be better then stock. I know=
for the Porsche 914 I could get Weltmeister delrin bushings for anything a=
nd everything, but I'm not sure on the 5k. Also I was going to install the =
QLCC chip I have sitting here this weekend, and noticed that the entire fac=
tory PCB has been coated in some kind of glue which hold the chip in even a=
fter the solder joints are released. Any tips on how to safely remove the f=
actory chip without damage to the board? I don't have one of those hot air =
de-soldering guns, and my plan of removing the chip one side at a time won'=
t work due to the chip being glued down. The I/C is already strapped ready =
to go, and for the EFI all I'm waiting on now is a TPS, then I gota make a =
free weekend to get it up and running on EFI. Hopefully by the end of March=
I'll be CIS free! The final result will be simmilar to Javad and Jim Green=
s projects.
On another note, I've built a website for the car, finishing up some little=
touches then I'll post the address.
