Servotronic is now disabled! WOW

Servotronic was introduced in the '92 C4 chassis cars. It is a speed
sensitive power steering "booster" that gives you that nice Cadillac "one
finger" steering effort at low speeds - or not, once you disable the system.
Even at highway speeds, the Servotronic steering feels light. Servotronic
was standard on all UrS cars but I think it was an option on the 100
series - you can get non-Servotronic replacement racks for the 100 series
cars.

About Servotronic, could somebody explain us, older audi drivers (...the
cars, not the drivers...), what it is actually, why it is good to get rid of
it, etc?

Hey everyone. Finally got around to disabling the dreaded servotronic on my
93 100s 5sp. Got some conflicting advice on what to do, where the relay was
located, etc. Looked around for the relay but could not find it. The
procedure is quite simple and doesn't even require removing the glovebox or
anything like that. All I did was the following: Open the glovebox all the
way out, look behind it, find a small green rectangular box(it's resting on
the foot vent), reach behind box, wiggle out the connector....DONE! WOW! The
difference is amazing; this car feels like it should now, on the highway and
otherwise. Very stable, very accurate steering.  Parking lot maneuvering
requires a bit more effort but I'm young and I'm able-bodied so I really
don't care. It's just wonderful; I can't imagine how great it will be once I
upgrade the suspension! Everyone who said this little mod is worth it was
completely right. Thanks for all your help!
