Trailer Hitch?

I have a UHaul hitch on my car, and have towed the hitch's rated limit
(2800 pounds or so) across the country and most of the way back. The
200 tows well up to about 60 mph, and I really don't recommend going
that high (I got about 18mpg).

One warning about the UHaul hitch, though: it can interfere with the
exhaust. The guys who installed it failed to allow for the fact that
exhaust pipes expand when they get hot, so whenever there wasn't
enough air to keep it cool, I got a godawful racket from the back of
the car as the exhaust hanger bracket made sweet love to the trailer
hitch (amazing the noise exhaust pipes make when they're in heat). I
used a sawzall to cut away much of the rear bracket (it was still
plenty strong enough) but my mechanic didn't like this, and built me a
custom hanger for about $35. Good luck getting UHaul to actually fix
any mistakes they made - I had trouble even convincing them that the
problem hadn't been there before.

I'm not sure what the moral of that was, but perhaps it'll help
someone :)
