i hate to jury rig things if i can help it.  The OE shielding seems like a =
great place to start.

    On an unrelated note, i was poking around a web page that showed what a=
ppeared to be an aftermarket airbox.  It replaced the lower half of the fue=
l metering unit with a K&N type filter box.  Anyone seen this, have any opi=
nions?  Are there other options?

BTW it's on an '86 4KQ
