Tackled the replacement of the driver side CV halfshaft this evening on the=
CGT. Everything went pretty smoothly (axle nut came off easily, all 6 trip=
le square bolts came out no problem). Installed the new shaft, tightened up=
the 6 triple square bolts, dropped the car to the ground and torqued the a=
xle nut to the torque specified in Bentley (167 ft/lb). When I lifted the c=
ar back off the ground, I could hardly budge the wheel (tranny out of gear)=
. If I back the axle nut off a couple of turns, the wheel spins freely. Any=
clue to why the wheel is binding? The wheel spun freely before the CV shaf=
t was replaced. TIA.
